BAROCCO — EDITORIAL
Concrete Cathedral
Maximalist luxury meets brutalist architecture. Where opulence finds its edge.
THE BRIEF
Barocco came to us with a bold proposition: reposition their signature embellished suiting from occasion-wear to high-fashion editorial.
The solution was Concrete Cathedral—a campaign that places ornate velvet blazers and brocade three-piece suits against the unforgiving geometry of brutalist architecture. The visual tension is deliberate: rhinestone-studded lapels catch light against raw concrete, honeycomb jacquard patterns echo the cellular texture of exposed aggregate.
We developed environments that feel like fashion bunkers—spaces where the garments become artifacts of a more confident future. The color grade strips warmth from the architecture while preserving the rich burgundies, bronzes, and silvers of the collection.
THE APPROACH
Architecture as Antagonist
Raw concrete, exposed aggregate, angular geometry. The brutalist environments create visual friction—making the ornate tailoring feel defiant rather than decorative.
Chromatic Restraint
Desaturated concrete backdrops in cold grey-blue. Garment colors remain saturated—the red velvet burns against the grey, the bronze catches warm light, the silver becomes liquid.
Confident Stillness
No action, no movement—just presence. Models occupy space with the certainty of sculpture. The poses echo the angular architecture, creating visual rhymes throughout the campaign.
